I felt a little trapped by the assignment so I drew what I felt.

A brief field trip to Georgetown allowed me to discover a pair of places
that struck my fancy.

I wandered home playing in the light and shadow. There are some
interesting light sculptures around the Patent and Trade Office in
Alexandria, VA. They appear to be mundane fountains and landscaping
objects during the day only to blossom at night.

Been trying for months to get a shot of this. I wish I had gotten off my
behind sooner while there were way more leaves on the trees, the last few
weeks have been hard on the trees, with the high temperatures.

I really wanted to have more usable pics out of this bunch, but the spring
light is horribly harsh, I prefer the trees to be fully fleshed out and
the sun a bit more gentle. (I suspect Autumn is my season, really.) I
dislike shooting mornings and early afternoon in open spaces, since the
sun is incredibly harsh. I guess I could start futzing with filters or
experimenting with the aperture and shutter speeds, but some days I just
want the photo to turn out, darn it.

It was a fun event, and he seemed to do well with the kids.

So. I went and added yet another internet social thingy to my pile of
stuff I watch but rarely implement. Who should I be watching on Tumblr?
